For the medium-sized Ukrainian companies, an opportunity has emerged for co-financing reconstruction projects

In October, a special reconstruction project competition began, initiated by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ). It is directed at companies seeking business opportunities in Ukraine in four selected sectors, including construction.

Yevhen Kurulenko, the project coordinator for technical assistance at ReAct4UA GIZ GmbH, presented the develoPPP financial competition↗️ to the window community at the TeamWIN "Days of Windows and Glass in Ukraine" 2023 business conference.

A company can submit a project for co-financing to one of two German organizations, DEG Impulse or GIZ. There are two possible forms of cooperation:

  1. Project Implementation Agreement
    • The company needs more financial resources.
    • Support volume can be up to 200,000 euros.
    • The company must contribute a minimum of 50% of the project's cost.
  2. Cooperation Agreement
    • Lack of expertise or technical capabilities for implementation.
    • Support volume can reach up to 2 million euros.
    • The company's contribution should be a minimum of 50% of the project's cost.

Several companies can submit one project, forming a partnership or consortium.

Mr. Yevhen emphasized that it takes about 4-8 months from application submission to the signing of the agreement. It's important to note that the project itself must be completed by 2026.
