profine Group has put into operation a recycling plant in Pirmazens, Germany. According to the company's press centre, the plant has been operating since January 2024, and the official opening took place in March.

The processing plant has a capacity of 15,000 tonnes per year. It operates in four shifts.
The materials from old plastic windows are supplied by third-party recyclers and are pre-sorted and cleaned. It then undergoes a multi-stage cleaning and filtration process to produce high-quality pellets, which are processed into window profiles together with virgin material.

Dr Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine, emphasises the strategic importance of the approach: "At profine, we strongly believe that sustainability plays an important role in the development of the company."

The company produces the Kömmerling ReFrame profile system, which is made from 100 per cent recycled material. Other profiles contain at least 55% recycled material.
