On April 26, 2024, AGC Glass Europe officially opened a new glass lamination line at the plant in Osterweddingen, Germany. The expansion of production capacity is driven by the growing demand for safety glass.

The existing float line of the plant produces standard and extra-clear glass, which can now be directly processed into value-added products. The equipment allows for the production of laminated glass in sizes from DLF (half the size of Jumbo) to non-standard sizes and even Jumbo XXL sizes (up to 7 meters).
The plant is located in the heart of Europe and will provide additional laminated glass capacity for the German-speaking market of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. It will also help optimize the transportation of safety glass throughout Europe. Meanwhile, AGC is expanding its laminated glass production capacity at the plant in Cuneo, Italy.
According to AGC, in the coming months, the German plant also plans to start producing low-carbon glass.
