The German company Reiling Group, specializing in secondary raw materials processing, has opened an additional glass processing plant. It was put into operation in February, and now the company has reported successful first weeks of operation.
Reiling already has a glass processing plant in the German city of Osterweddingen. An additional plant for processing contaminated and fine-grained glass scrap operates there, formed at the company's existing plants.
The material is pre-dried in a drum dryer and then processed in various sorting machines. Ceramics, stone, porcelain, glass ceramics, lead-containing glass, iron and non-ferrous metals, organic materials such as foil and labels, as well as larger plastic particles, are discarded. Additionally, color sorting is possible.
Thanks to the high quality of the processed glass scrap, it can be returned for high-quality melting and remain in the production cycle.
In Ukraine, construction glass is not sorted and is stored in landfills. It is rarely used as a powder filler for the production of concrete products, etc. To address this situation, [a:https://okna.ua/en/news/20230825/the-law-on-preparation-for-the-reuse-of;value:Law No. 2320-IX on waste management has come into force].
