REHAU Window Solutions has announced the installation of a photovoltaic system at its plant in Śrem, near Poznań, Poland. The project involves collaboration with EDP Energia Polska, which will install and operate the system on the plant’s premises for 20 years. The photovoltaic system will supply energy to the production and warehouse facilities.

This initiative is part of the company’s global strategy to reduce energy dependence and carbon emissions. With the installed panels, REHAU will be able to cut CO2 emissions by over 1,000 tons annually, equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of 182,000 mature trees each year.

The project will also help reduce operational costs by enabling more efficient use of energy and resources. This marks another step toward achieving the decarbonization goals of European industry. The installed system, with a capacity of 1.6 MW, will strengthen the company’s energy autonomy.

For example, since 2023, a photovoltaic system covering 1.8 hectares has been supplying green energy to REHAU’s headquarters in Erlangen, Germany. It meets 60% of the company’s electricity needs and reduces CO2 emissions by approximately 630 tons annually.
