The state will take part in establishing the first training and practice centre (TPC) for the installation of transparent structures in Ukraine. This was announced by the Association of Ukrainian Producers of Transparent Structures.
The Association, together with the Kyiv Vocational College of Civil Engineering, participated in a co-financing competition for the creation of the TPC. Based on the competition results, UAH 5 million will be allocated from the state budget. According to the competition conditions, the government covers 70% of the project cost, while the Association and its partners provide the remaining 30%.
“This is the first state investment in our industry in over 30 years, and it’s a shared achievement of all the Association's members,” said Mykhailo Orlenko, Executive Director of the Association.
He also noted that the Association financed the development of project documentation, technical and design plans for submission to the competition before the final decision was made — without guarantees, relying only on belief in the success and importance of the initiative.
The centre is planned to open at the Kyiv Vocational College of Civil Engineering and is expected to start operating this year. The first group of students will be admitted under a new specialisation, with future enrolments following updated standards developed jointly with the Ministry of Education.
The TPC will be a significant step towards improving vocational training for installers in Ukraine. The Association is also working on developing new professional standards and implementing training programmes in line with European practices.
