The company Aluprof has launched a new fire-rated partition system, MB-60E EI. According to the manufacturer, the new system enables the creation of glass structures with EI30 fire resistance classification. It is targeted at the internal partition and door market, particularly for offices, shopping centres, and public buildings.

MB-60E EI is a profile system allowing the construction of single- and double-leaf doors, technical windows, and internal glass partitions. Structures within this system meet the EI30 fire resistance class requirements according to EN 13501-2+A1. They can also be smoke-tight and self-closing. Additionally, the system is classified as non-fire-propagating.

A distinctive feature of MB-60E EI is the narrow joint between glass panels – only 3 to 5 mm – which enables visually lightweight and modern interiors with no visible metal elements. The system accommodates fire-resistant glazing up to 41 mm thick, including burglary-resistant options (RC2). Thanks to internal thermal insulation inserts in the profiles, the structures withstand high temperatures.

The MB-60E EI system allows for the fabrication of doors up to 1400×2475 mm, including usage in evacuation routes and smoke extraction systems.

In this context, it is worth noting that NSG Group, the producer of Pilkington glass, has developed fire-resistant safety glass for frameless systems.
