Schüco Polska has launched a new aluminium system for the production of acoustic windows, originally developed in 2021. The Schüco OpenSilent AWS 90 AC.SI system enables room ventilation without the intrusion of external noise. The system is designed for residential and office buildings in noisy urban areas, near airports or busy roads.
Unlike conventional profile systems, the AWS 90 AC.SI reduces noise levels even during ventilation. When the window is open, sound levels are reduced to 31–34 dB. In the closed position, the system reduces noise by up to 47 dB. Fresh air is delivered through integrated ventilation cassettes located at the top of the frame.
The system is also energy-efficient, offering a thermal transmittance (Uf) of 1.2 W/(m²K) with a visible width of just 117 mm.
The system is particularly effective for bedrooms and children’s rooms that face noisy streets. It helps to maintain indoor comfort — without compromising on either silence or fresh air.
It is worth noting that other solutions are also appearing on the market aimed at improving indoor climate. For instance, Reynaers Aluminium offers a motorised window drive for applications that are hard to reach manually.
According to Schüco, manufacturing windows using this system does not require significant changes to the production process, making it accessible to a wide range of fabricators.
