At the general meeting of the Association of Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS), it was announced that the organisation is planning to launch new educational projects in Chernivtsi and Kharkiv. Training for future installers and assemblers of transparent structures will take place at local vocational institutions.
According to preliminary plans, in Chernivtsi the training class will be based at the Chernivtsi Vocational Construction Lyceum, where specialists will be trained under the qualification “Assembler of transparent structures”. The project is scheduled to start during 2025–2026.
In Kharkiv, a training and practical centre is planned at the Kharkiv Vocational College of Construction and Industry. The training there will focus on the qualifications “Installer of window and door structures” and “Assembler of transparent structures”. Implementation is scheduled for 2026–2027.
These projects are being developed as part of the national educational initiative WindowED, aimed at training qualified personnel for the transparent structures industry.
The Executive Director of the Association, Mykhailo Orlenko, emphasised that effective cooperation between the association and educational institutions depends on three key factors: the interest of the college management, support from local authorities, and the presence of partner companies that can provide students with practical training.
