The NorthGlass Coating BU division has announced the development of a 24-metre-long glass coating line. According to the Chinese company, this represents a technological breakthrough in the production of large-format façade glass, increasingly used in modern supertall skyscrapers and landmark buildings.

The line was designed to meet the growing demand for XXL-format façade glass. Previously, NorthGlass supplied glass panels 18.3 m long for a building in the Luoyang NorthGlass Advanced Equipment Industrial Park and 19 m panels for a cultural and arts centre in the Chinese city of Anji. Now the company can process even larger dimensions, opening up new possibilities for world-class architectural projects.

According to the manufacturer, the key technological breakthrough lies in successfully solving the challenge of maintaining high vacuum stability and ensuring long-term reliable operation of critical service valves under conditions of ultra-long coatings. The line can also produce laminated glass with low-emissivity coating.

NorthGlass is laying the technical foundation for the next generation of large-format glass façades.
