One of the world’s major manufacturers of installation foam, Selena Group, has announced the signing of a conditional agreement to acquire the Portuguese group Grupo IGM, one of the leading sandwich panel manufacturers on the local market. The company views this transaction as a step towards entering the thermal insulation products segment and strengthening its position in Southern Europe.

The agreement was concluded by the Polish parent company Selena FM S.A., which plans to acquire 100% of the shares in Irmãos Guimarães Martins, SGPS, S.A. The process will take place in two stages: first, Selena will acquire a 66% stake, followed by the buyout of the remaining shares. Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by the Portuguese competition authority and the results of a comprehensive due diligence review.

Grupo IGM specialises in the production of sandwich panels, metal profiles and custom elements for roofing and façades. The company mainly serves the residential and industrial construction sectors, operates its own production facilities in Portugal and has a presence on the Spanish market.

According to the results for 2024, Grupo IGM’s sales reached €66.5 million. Selena Group expects that the acquisition will allow it to expand its product range with a new offering and respond to growing demand for thermal insulation materials in the region.
