Planned publication of the updated textbook “Transparent building envelopes” in May 2026

Work is under way to update the textbook for students of higher education institutions, “Transparent building envelopes”. According to the Director of the Association Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS), the book is scheduled for publication in May 2026 in cooperation with Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUBA).

The textbook remains the core educational publication of KNUBA on the topic of transparent building envelopes. The first edition was published in 2005. The university’s team of authors prepared the book with the support of industry partners.

UMTS and KNUBA are using the previous edition as the basis for the new book. The updated material will take into account modern materials, current standards, and challenges related to the reconstruction of Ukraine.

The publication is being prepared by the academic team of KNUBA together with industry experts:

• Vitalii Oleksiiovych Ploskyi, Head of Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.
• Oleh Vasylovych Serhiichuk, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.
• Viacheslav Leonidovych Martynov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.
• Vsevolod Serhiiovych Buravchenko, Associate Professor.
• Olha Vitaliivna Kryvenko, Professor.

The initiative is part of the Association’s educational project WindowED, which develops professional education in the field of transparent structures. After publication, the book is planned to be included in the curricula of relevant degree programmes.
