The Kyiv vocational college of civil construction is undergoing licensing for the professions of installer of window and door structures and specialist in the installation of ventilated façades and transparent structures. This was reported by Mykhailo Orlenko, Executive Director of the Association “Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures” (UMTS).
The college plans to obtain licences from the Ministry of Education and Science in the summer of 2026. The institution has already opened online admissions for these professions and has begun enrolling applicants for training.
Previously, the professional standards “Specialist in the installation of suspended ventilated façades and transparent structures” and “Senior specialist in the installation of suspended ventilated façades and transparent structures” were developed and entered into the Register of Qualifications in March 2025. In January 2026, the professional standard “Installer of window and door systems” was added to the Register.
On this basis, educational institutions can develop their own training programmes.
UMTS plans to work on the professional standard “Assembler of transparent structures”.
Students will study at a training and practical centre, which UMTS is creating together with the college in Kyiv. Training will follow a dual model, combining theory with practical training at production facilities.
The opening of the centre is planned for spring 2026 after the completion of renovation works.
The centre will become part of the national WindowED project, which is forming a system of vocational education for the window industry. Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures plans to develop a network of such centres in Kyiv, Dnipro, Chernivtsi and Kharkiv.
