Giesse unveils concealed Smart C.H.I.C. electric actuator for aluminium tilt-and-turn windows

Giesse S.p.A. (part of Quanex Building Products) has announced a new electric actuator for aluminium tilt-and-turn windows called Smart C.H.I.C. The actuator is fully concealed inside the sash profile.

The motor measures just 17 × 25 mm. It combines the motor, electronics and gearbox into a single compact module. The manufacturer designed the actuator to operate together with Giesse C.H.I.C. concealed hinges.

The window has no visible components such as cables, batteries, hinges or handles. All hardware, including the operating mechanism, is concealed within the profile. The system operates automatically and quietly. It adapts to user settings or to the building automation system. This makes it suitable for both residential and commercial buildings.

Giesse Smart C.H.I.C. is available in two versions: OPEN and PRO.

The OPEN version features a wired communication interface. It enables integration of the actuator with widely used professional home automation platforms.

The Smart C.H.I.C. PRO version supports integration with smart home and smart building systems. It connects to external automation platforms and voice assistants. The window can be operated locally or remotely. Through the automation system, the actuator interacts with security systems and environmental sensors, for example by responding to alarms or rain. The system also supports controlled micro-ventilation, improving air exchange, acoustic comfort and the building's energy efficiency.

Both versions can also be operated manually using a lever. If required, the window can be fitted with a removable handle for manual operation.

Earlier, at FENSTERBAU FRONTALE 2026, GEZE introduced the new Axira door closer for large and heavy doors.

Giesse Smart C.H.I.C. is the first product in the new Giesse Smart product range. The range will include smart devices operating on a shared digital platform with unified control functions.
