The German testing institute ift Rosenheim has begun cooperation with the Turkish company FTI in Istanbul. This was announced by ift Rosenheim.
The partnership creates a new opportunity for testing construction products in Turkey and neighbouring countries. FTI provides its testing facilities for air permeability and resistance testing of windows, doors, façades and other building envelope components. ift Rosenheim contributes its expertise in building components to the process. The partnership offers system suppliers and manufacturers of building components an additional testing option in Turkey. This enables them to obtain the required test reports more quickly.
ift Rosenheim is an accredited body and a notified body. Therefore, the institute will carry out official testing for interested clients at FTI’s facilities in Istanbul. The tests comply with Articles 46 and 49 of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR). Such testing is required, among other things, for CE marking. This ensures the quality of the testing and recognition of the results.
FTI’s personnel, who are also accredited and operate as a notified body, carry out preliminary tests. These confirm compliance with all required standards before the official testing by ift Rosenheim. This approach helps avoid delays and makes the testing process more efficient.
ift Rosenheim Hellas, the institute’s partner company, provides test engineers to work on site. This saves clients time and costs while allowing testing to be carried out quickly and directly at the project location.
At present, ift Rosenheim plans to test windows, doors, gates, façades and sliding elements. The scope includes air permeability, watertightness under static pressure, resistance to wind load, mechanical performance and pendulum impact testing. In the near future, ift Rosenheim plans to expand the range of tests available at FTI’s facilities.
