REHAU Window Solutions has introduced the new NUVERA window system to the US market, featuring glass-fibre-reinforced RAU-FIPRO composite profiles. The system made its US debut at GlassBuild America in Las Vegas.
NUVERA has been developed for residential and light commercial construction. The system includes single-hung and double-hung windows, single-slider windows, as well as fixed windows.
One of the system’s key features is the use of RAU-FIPRO in the sash meeting area instead of conventional metal reinforcement. According to REHAU, this solution allows larger permissible window sizes and glazed areas while reducing the visible profile width.
NUVERA features five-chamber frames and three-chamber sash profiles. The system is designed for triple-pane IGUs. At the same time, fabricators can process the profiles using standard PVC window manufacturing equipment, which should simplify integration of the new system into existing production processes.
REHAU also states that the system reduces the number of components and material-handling operations required during window production. Installation features include a fixing flange, a groove for installation tape and an optional J-profile for siding connections. This allows NUVERA to be used both in new-build projects and for window replacement.
“NUVERA combines a new design concept with a practical system approach for the North American market. Its design gives fabricators, builders and architects greater flexibility while helping to simplify production and installation,” said Randy Hoover, chief engineer at REHAU Window Solutions and one of the engineers involved in developing NUVERA.
In NUVERA, RAU-FIPRO technology is combined with RAU-FLECT Low-E, which the company uses to improve the thermal performance of the profile system.
RAU-FIPRO technology is already used in other REHAU solutions. In European markets, including Ukraine, its RAU-FIPRO X version is used in the GENEO and ARTEVO profile systems.
