From October, Dr.-Ing. Volker Brink will take over responsibility for product management at Germany’s Winkhaus Group. He will succeed Alfred Dinkelborg, who is stepping down from his operational role upon retirement after more than 25 years with the company. This was announced by Aug. Winkhaus SE.
Alfred Dinkelborg will continue to work with Winkhaus as a consultant. He will also retain his roles in industry associations.
For more than ten years, Volker Brink headed product management for Winkhaus access control systems. In this role, he was involved in the development of the blueEvo system platform, Winkhaus’s electronic locking system.

Over the past few months, Brink has been preparing for his new position. He will now be responsible for product management across the entire Winkhaus Group. His responsibilities will include strategic product and technology planning, taking future market requirements into account.
At Winkhaus, product management covers window hardware, secure door locking systems and access control systems. The division also includes application technology, technical documentation, the customer centre, software and product data. Another area of responsibility is the development and support of the AV WIN software for window manufacturers.
“I am looking forward to the new role and to working with my colleagues to determine the next steps,” said Volker Brink. “We have strong products and a very good understanding of market requirements. This gives us a solid basis on which to build. It is important to me to continue along the chosen path while also providing fresh impetus, so that we can continue to offer our customers products and services that meet their needs.”
During his time at Winkhaus, Alfred Dinkelborg was involved in the development of several of the company’s product areas. These include secure door locking systems, activPilot window hardware, primePort hardware for sliding systems and aluPilot aluminium hardware for Euro grooves.
“The past years have been an eventful and varied period. I will particularly remember working with the many interesting customers and dedicated colleagues I have met here,” said Alfred Dinkelborg. “I know that product management is in very good hands with Volker Brink. Although I will remain associated with Winkhaus in a different role for some time, I am retiring with a positive feeling.”
Winkhaus Management Board member Stefan Wemhoff thanked Alfred Dinkelborg for more than 25 years with the company and confirmed that he would continue to advise Winkhaus. According to Wemhoff, Volker Brink knows the company’s products and the markets in which it operates very well.
