The float glass manufacturer AGC Glass Europe has announced the launch of low-carbon fire-resistant Pyrobel glass. According to the company, this will meet the growing market demand for glass with a reduced carbon footprint.
AGC Glass Europe adopts a comprehensive approach to the entire value creation chain. This involves using recycled materials, eco-friendly raw materials, efficient melting furnaces, renewable energy, and optimizing transportation between AGC Group facilities for final processes.
Low-carbon Pyrobel glass offers the same aesthetics, quality, technical performance, and fire-resistant properties as standard Pyrobel. Currently, available are Pyrobelite 10 (11 mm thick, fire resistance class EW30), Pyrobel 16 (17 mm, EI30), and Pyrobel 25 (26 mm, EI60).
The company is currently updating the Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for low-carbon Pyrobel glass. AGC announces that verified EPDs will be published a few months after independent verification.
