The university campus in Kyiv will be glazed with transparent RODECA polycarbonate panels manufactured in Germany. This was announced by Karbosnab, the official representative of RODECA in Ukraine.
The client specified three key requirements for the material to be used on a building with high public occupancy: safety, shatterproof performance and an aesthetically pleasing façade. These requirements determined the choice of polycarbonate panels.
The panels are installed on an aluminium framing system featuring a tongue-and-groove interlocking connection. This system ensures weathertightness and creates a smooth, seamless façade appearance.
The façade uses the transparent PC 2333-30-6 multiwall polycarbonate panel with a thickness of 30 mm, a six-wall structure and five insulating cavities. The panel features a tongue-and-groove interlocking system, co-extruded UV protection and high thermal performance among transparent façade systems.
The panel has a thermal transmittance (U-value) of 1.3 W/m²K and transmits less than 1% of ultraviolet radiation.
