Belgian profile systems manufacturer Deceuninck is seeing signs of a recovery in volumes in the French and Spanish markets in the first half of 2026. At the same time, demand in European residential construction remains subdued. This is according to Deceuninck’s half-year report published on 20 August 2026.

According to the company, the situation in the European market remains mixed. Volume growth in France and Spain has not yet extended to all countries. Overall market volumes remain at relatively low levels.

Deceuninck’s sales in Europe rose by 7.2% in the first half of the year, from €185.7 million to €199.2 million. Sales volumes increased by 4.2%, while changes in pricing and sales mix contributed 3.2%. Currency movements had a negative impact of 0.2%.

Deceuninck’s acting CEO Francis Van Eeckhout said:

“In the first half of 2026, we delivered strong results in a market environment that varied by region. In Europe, market activity improved compared with the previous year, with volumes increasing slightly in several key markets. At the same time, the sharp rise in raw material prices in the second quarter led to increased purchasing activity among customers, which had a positive impact on our volumes and profitability.”

Deceuninck attributes the sharp rise in raw material prices in the second quarter to geopolitical developments. As a result, the company received particularly high order volumes in April and May. This factor supported sales volumes and profitability in the first half of the year.

The company considers this effect temporary. In the second half of the year, Deceuninck expects order activity and volumes to decline. In Europe, France and Spain continue to show higher levels of activity than last year, although the company currently has limited visibility on how volumes will develop going forward.

In Turkey, the situation developed differently. Deceuninck reports volume growth and favourable demand throughout the first half of the year. The company also expects market conditions to support its business in the second half of 2026.

Deceuninck’s sales in the Turkey & Emerging Markets segment rose by 22.7%, from €115.1 million to €141.2 million. Volumes increased by 4.3%. At the same time, currency movements reduced reported sales by 15.6%, while changes in pricing and sales mix had a positive impact of 33.9%.

In North America, Deceuninck reports weaker market conditions. High interest rates and a challenging macroeconomic environment are constraining residential construction and renovation. The company is also experiencing difficulties in recruiting and retaining employees.

Deceuninck’s sales in North America fell by 3.7%, from €82.8 million to €79.7 million. Volumes increased by 1.5%, but currency movements had a negative impact of 5.9%.

In the second half of the year, the company expects challenging conditions in North America due to high mortgage rates and economic uncertainty. Deceuninck also expects difficulties in recruiting skilled workers to persist until the end of 2026.

Overall, Deceuninck’s sales rose by 9.5% to €420.1 million in the first half of 2026, while net profit increased from €11.5 million to €26.2 million.

Deceuninck operates across three geographical segments: Europe, North America, and Turkey & Emerging Markets. The company manufactures PVC, aluminium and composite systems for windows and doors and is headquartered in Belgium.
