Congratulations on the International Energy Saving Day!
Energy efficiency has been a global trend for many years. But this year in Ukraine it reached a new level of necessity due to Russian shelling.
Today, this day is another opportunity to remind yourself and those around you how to become more energy efficient.
For a more or less comfortable winter, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine offers, among some recommendations:
- Check whether there is no draft in the windows.
If the windows are old and have cracks, replace them with energy-efficient ones if possible. It is less effective to replace the seal or cover it with insulating tape.
OKNA.ua recommends paying attention to windows with energy efficiency class A. You can calculate thermal insulation characteristics in the Windows Energy Efficiency Calculator OKNA.ua okna.ua/en/energoeffektivnost_okna
If the windows are new, but still not airtight, then you need to contact the company that installed them, or another window service.
If new windows have double-glazed windows without an energy-saving layer, replace them with energy-efficient ones if possible. As a temporary solution, you can stick a heat-saving film on the glass. - Check whether there is a draft under the window sill. If there are gaps in the places where the window sill attaches, they can be filled with mounting foam.
- Make sure there are no gaps between the door leaf and the door frame.
- Install door closers in entrances for automatic closing.
- If possible, arrange thermal vestibules in entrances — double doors.
Due to russia's energy terror, the energy-saving behaviour of Ukrainians became a conscious choice and a contribution to victory.
Everything will be Ukraine.
