Winkhaus changes its name and emphasises European focus

The German manufacturer of fittings and security systems Winkhaus has announced that from 1 August 2025, the company will operate under a new legal form – Aug. Winkhaus SE (Societas Europaea). According to Winkhaus, the name change marks the final stage of a years-long transformation and underscores the business’s European orientation.

According to managing partner Tilmann Winkhaus, the transition to the status of a European public limited company will help establish unified and modern structures for further operations in international markets. Winkhaus has four production sites in Germany and nine subsidiaries in Europe, enabling it to offer products and services tailored to each country.

“Our values as a family business remain unchanged – Winkhaus will continue to be 100% family-owned,” emphasised Tilmann Winkhaus.

Founded in 1854, the company develops and manufactures systems for windows and doors as well as access control solutions. Its facilities are located in Telgte, Münster, Meiningen, and Rydzyna, Poland. The group employs more than 2,300 people, and management is already in the hands of the fifth generation of the founding family. In Ukraine, the subsidiary Winkhaus Ukraine operates.
