The 'Special Recognition to Ukraine's Reconstruction and Recovery Effort' prizes will recognise projects that contribute to Ukraine's recovery in line with the New European Bauhaus values of sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusivity.
Earlier, NEB, together with the Covenant of Mayors East, Ro3kvit and ReThink, announced a programme to build the capacity of Ukrainian municipalities to prepare for reconstruction.
The 2024 Prize will reward existing projects and concepts by young talent in four categories:
- Reconnecting with nature;
- Restoring a sense of belonging;
- Prioritising places and people who need it most;
- Creating a circular industrial ecosystem and supporting the life cycle.
20 winners will receive prizes of up to €30,000.
Applications are accepted until 10 November 2023 via the official New European Bauhaus Prizes platform↗️.
The winners will be announced during the New European Bauhaus festival, which will take place in Brussels from 17 to 21 April 2024.
