The project team of "Public-Private Partnership for Improving Vocational Education in Ukraine" (EdUP) announced the launch of a pilot program. The plan is to restore 10 vocational education institutions in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine under the slogan "Build Back Better".
This approach includes the modernization of shelters, which will also be used as classrooms and workshops, insulating facades to reduce heating costs, and installing solar panels, especially in the southern part of the country. It is planned to consider accessibility requirements: installation of ramps, stair lifts, etc.
As commented by Dmytro Zavhorodnii, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformations, and Digitalization: "Initially, there will be ten vocational education institutions. Later, we will extend this experience to all other vocational schools."
Funding of 1.9 million Swiss francs will be provided by the Swiss government through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The implementation plan is approved for the period from May to December 2024.
