heroal – Johann Henkenjohann GmbH & Co. KG received the German Design Award 2025 in the "Excellent Product Design" category for its heroal VS Z textile sun protection system designed for corner zones.
The jury highlighted that the system combines functionality with thoughtful design. Designed specifically for glass corners, it provides protection from solar radiation without compromising the aesthetics of modern buildings. A key advantage is the independent operation of two textile screens, which adjust according to the sun’s position.
The heroal VS Z corner solution consists of two textile screens with side guidance based on zip technology and patented cable guidance for corner zones, allowing the screens to operate independently. Each screen can cover an area of up to 9 m².
When not in use, the screen retracts into a compact box that can be integrated into the wall.
The German Design Award recognises products that demonstrate exceptional design quality and set new standards in their field. Established in 2012, the award is presented annually.
