Roto Frank Fenster- und Türtechnologie GmbH has announced the market launch of a new fixing restrictor for aluminium side-hung windows in the Roto AL and Roto AL Designo systems. The product helps prevent unintended opening or sudden slamming of the sash.
The restrictor is operated via a standard window handle. The user opens the sash to the required angle and fixes it by turning the handle. This operating principle reduces the risk of unintended opening or abrupt closing of the sash caused by draughts.
Roto has designed the component to withstand daily loads. The mechanism protects the hinge side in the event of incorrect operation thanks to a sliding function. The manufacturer also allows the holding force to be adjusted on request.
The restrictor is installed in the bottom rebate on the hinge side and therefore remains concealed. Installation does not require changes to the standard production process. With appropriate positioning of the components, the window can meet resistance class RC2.
The product is also suitable for retrofitting already installed aluminium windows. Installation is carried out using a mounting clip, which simplifies work for manufacturers and service companies.
According to Roto, end consumers are increasingly paying attention to reliable sash fixation. The new restrictor makes it possible to dispense with improvised household methods of holding the window open.
