Hautau invests in a new gearbox assembly plant in Germany

HAUTAU has announced an investment of €1.1 million in a new automated gearbox assembly line at its site in Helpsen. The company is expanding its high-tech production and strengthening its position within the MACO Group.

The new line will manufacture gearboxes for the Move HS lift-and-slide hardware. The facility will produce up to 720,000 units per year, equivalent to around 3,000 gearboxes per day in three shifts.

The company has significantly increased productivity. The cycle time has been reduced from 50 to 20 seconds. The line is operated by a single employee responsible solely for logistics. All other processes are carried out automatically by the system.

The equipment switches independently to new product variants in less than ten minutes. The system adjusts the stamping tools to the required dimensions without human intervention. The line manufactures five different sizes. The machine automatically labels the products. It receives product and order data directly from SAP, which controls materials and production. The company operates on a make-to-order basis and reduces inventory levels.

HAUTAU specialists developed and assembled the equipment in-house. This approach enables rapid modifications and coordination between design, production and service departments.
