ASSA ABLOY announced the launch of the RP100 SimplySafe safety doors for automated warehouses and material handling systems. The new model has been developed to improve personnel safety and ensure stable equipment operation in highly automated environments.
RP100 SimplySafe protects operators from moving parts and hazardous areas during equipment operation. The doors are used in palletisers, depalletisers and conveyor systems together with automated guided vehicles, where controlling access to work zones is critical.
The design prevents unauthorised access during automatic cycles while allowing safe maintenance and inspection. The doors integrate with control and safety systems, ensuring a controlled restart of equipment after intervention.
The developers focused on simplicity and reliability. The model features a minimal number of components, making it easy to operate and suitable for environments with frequent operating cycles. Its compact design allows installation even in confined spaces.
The system is equipped with a safety limit switch rated at PL e and SIL 3, ensuring that the doors are closed before equipment start-up and blocking access to hazardous areas during operation. RP100 SimplySafe complies with EN ISO 14120, EN 528 and EN 619 standards.
The new solution is used in warehouse and transport systems, automated storage facilities, assembly lines and freight lifts. Reliable door operation helps reduce downtime and improve personnel safety.
Earlier it was reported that Gealan officially opened a multi-level automated warehouse in Germany, highlighting the ongoing development of automation in the industry.
