The Greek manufacturer of aluminium profile systems, Alumil, has announced a new version of its SMARTIA M450 LT sliding and lift-and-slide system. The information was released by the company itself.
The abbreviation LT stands for Low Track, referring to the low bottom track. This is the key difference between the new version and its predecessor. The threshold and side tracks are only 25 mm high. The width of the central interlock profile is also 25 mm.
The low threshold facilitates entry and exit. This is particularly important for people with disabilities, elderly users, and in buildings where convenient access is required.
A similar approach to creating a barrier-free transition between indoor and outdoor spaces has also been adopted by other manufacturers. For example, REHAU recently introduced the new EASYSTEP 80 LS barrier-free threshold for its ARTEVO and SYNEGO systems.
The system’s minimalist design provides wide views and visually connects interior and exterior spaces. Alumil positions the system as suitable both for new-build projects and for the replacement of existing structures.
According to certification test results, SMARTIA M450 LT achieved the following performance ratings: watertightness Class 5A, air permeability Class 4, and resistance to wind load Class C3.
It should be noted that, at the time of publication, Alumil’s Ukrainian representative office had not yet published information about SMARTIA M450 LT on its own channels.
