Polish roof window manufacturer FAKRO has announced the celebration of its 35th anniversary. The anniversary slogan, “35 Years Together”, is dedicated to the customers, partners and employees who have contributed to the company’s development over the decades.
FAKRO’s origins date back to the childhood of one of its founders, Ryszard Florek. A dark attic space in the town of Tymbark inspired him to think about creating more comfortable living environments. After completing his education, gaining practical experience and managing the Florad joinery workshop, he registered FAKRO in Nowy Sącz in 1991. The first roof windows were manufactured in a garage.
Today, FAKRO is among the world’s largest manufacturers of roof windows. The company employs nearly 4,000 people and operates 12 manufacturing facilities and 17 distribution companies. Its products are available in more than 70 countries. Over the past 35 years, the company has sold more than 11 million roof windows.
Recently, FAKRO launched a manufacturing plant in North Carolina, USA. This marks another step in expanding the brand’s presence in the American market.
The company’s portfolio includes more than 1,000 product lines, ranging from roof windows and loft ladders to complete window and door solutions under the FAKRO INNOVIEW brand. More than 200 engineers work on new product development at the company’s research and development centre. In total, the company has filed more than 260 patent applications and industrial design registrations.

As part of its anniversary programme, FAKRO has organised a series of training events for architects, roofing professionals and distributors. The company continues to focus on partnership and joint development with industry specialists.
