AGC Glass Europe completes 2022 with the launch of a Low Carbon Glass range. This is reported in the press centre of the company. The first Low-Carbon Planibel Clearlite has manufactured at a plant in Belgium. And in 2023, the glass will also produce in France.

According to AGC, the Low-Carbon Planibel Clearlite float glass emits 40% less CO2 than standard AGC glass: just 7 kg of CO2 per m² (4 mm thick).
To achieve this emission reduction, the company looked at every link in the value chain. The results had achieved by:
  • sustainably sourcing raw materials,
  • use of highly efficient melting furnaces
  • the increased use of recycled glass,
  • use of green energy sources,
  • optimization of transportation.

AGC's safety, thermal insulation and solar control glass can be ordered from the Low-Carbon Planibel Clearlite. According to the company, the quality and technical characteristics will be the same as in products with standard glass.
