The profile brand Gealan has announced the installation of an additional silo. The 7-tonne container has installed at the production and logistics site in Tann, Germany.
In the summer of 2021, the brand announced the launch of a new plant that grinds and sorts the profiles waste. Now, granulate from old windows will have stored in an additional silo.
After shredding PVC windows, the Rewindo material will be re-processed and returned to the recyclable material cycle at the Gealan profile extrusion.
According to Gealan, the company used approximately 33% of recycled PVC in 2022, and the trend is growing. The share of sustainable development is also growing in Europe. For example, Rehau Window Solutions has expanded its plant for recycling old PVC windows.
The new silo holds about 175 tonnes granulate. Its height is 23.75 m and its diameter is 4.20 m.
