Polish aluminium systems manufacturer Aluprof has improved the burglary resistance of its MB-86N window and MB-86 door systems. They are now also available in burglary resistance class RC4 (EN 1627).
The company has reinforced the standard aluminium system with aluminium strips. These are bolted to the profiles with ties. According to Aluprof, the reinforced profiles will allow them to eliminate the grilles on the windows.
The most difficult thing is to create PVC systems with a high burglary resistance class, while the easiest is steel, OKNA.ua says.
For structures with an RC4 burglary resistance class, the resistance time is 10 minutes against an experienced burglar with a special tool. RC4 security windows are recommended for installation in private homes. For a window to comply with the RC4 burglary resistance class, all components must be of at least RC4 class. This includes glass and fittings. Burglary-resistant installation is also required.
MB-86N and MB-86 belong to the RC4 burglary resistance class, as confirmed by an independent test conducted by the Polish Building Technology Laboratory. The tests showed that the windows and doors can withstand a 10-minute break-in with a hammer, axe, chisel or cordless drill.
