AGC Glass Europe, together with Eastman, presents a new solution for reducing the carbon footprint of laminated glass. The low-carbon Stratobel glass now includes the Saflex LiteCarbon Clear interlayer from Eastman, which significantly helps lower carbon emissions.
The use of Saflex LiteCarbon Clear allows window manufacturers to offer a fully eco-friendly solution that combines low-carbon glass, PVB film, and the lamination process. The product ensures high transparency and meets safety standards, making it suitable for residential glazing and other applications.
With the integration of Saflex LiteCarbon Clear, the low-carbon Stratobel glass achieves a substantially reduced global warming potential (GWP): 2.4 kg CO₂ eq./m² for the interlayer and 5.5 kg CO₂ eq./m² for 4 mm glass.
AGC Glass Europe and Eastman showcased the new product at Glasstec 2024.
Previously, Saint-Gobain Glass began collaboration with Eastman to create bird-friendly glass — 4BIRD®Lami.
