As of 9 April 2025, Professor Winfried Heusler has taken over as head of ift Rosenheim. He replaces Professor Jörn P. Lass, who will now concentrate on the development of new European standards for windows, doors, and façades. The change was announced by the ift Rosenheim press office.
Jörn Lass led ift Rosenheim since 2020. During his tenure, he guided the institute through the pandemic, promoted the development of digital services, and placed strong emphasis on sustainable construction. After a long absence due to illness, he has decided to fully dedicate himself to creating technical standards that will shape future practices for manufacturers, suppliers, architects, and builders. He remains at the institute as Director of Standardisation.
Professor Winfried Heusler, the new head of the institute, had been serving as acting director since October 2024. Throughout his career, he has worked in the façade and building envelope sector in both business and academia. He now aims to support ift Rosenheim in its transition towards circular economy principles, digitalisation, and adaptation to climate change.
It is worth noting that with support from ift Rosenheim, a RAL installation guide for windows and doors was published in Ukraine.
