Energy Efficiency Fund launches a new tool for energy modernisation without extending 'VidnovyDIM'

The Energy Efficiency Fund, the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, and the Ukrainian Decarbonisation Fund have signed a memorandum of cooperation. As a result, a new support instrument has been created for HOAs and housing cooperatives seeking to modernise their buildings and reduce energy costs. This was announced by the Energy Efficiency Fund’s press centre.

The partnership introduces a financial leasing mechanism: HOAs and housing cooperatives will be able to acquire heat pumps, solar power stations, and other energy-efficient equipment via instalment payments, with part of the equipment’s cost covered by a grant. This reduces the financial burden on co-owners and enables quicker adoption of modern technologies in the residential sector.

“We have developed a clear interaction algorithm that will make it easy to obtain both the equipment and the grants,” said Yehor Fareniuk, Director of the Energy Efficiency Fund.

This approach is a logical extension of the GreenDIM programme, which has already proven effective in supporting energy modernisation. However, it does not represent a continuation of that programme. As a reminder, the Energy Efficiency Fund earlier suspended the acceptance of new applications under both the GreenDIM and VidnovyDIM programmes. The VidnovyDIM programme specifically allowed for the replacement or repair of damaged windows, stained-glass structures, external and internal vestibule doors.
