The ASSA ABLOY press centre reported that the company had acquired the UK-based producer of aluminium systems for windows, doors and façades — Senior Architectural Systems (SAS). This move forms part of ASSA ABLOY’s strategy to expand its presence in the UK window market and reinforce its position in the commercial construction segment.
Nico Delvaux, President and CEO of ASSA ABLOY, noted that the acquisition of SAS would enhance the company’s core business with new products: “I am pleased to welcome SAS to ASSA ABLOY. This acquisition aligns with our strategy to grow our core business with complementary products.”
ASSA ABLOY is a global provider of access systems and entrance solutions.
SAS has been operating in the market since 1991. The company specialises in aluminium profile systems for windows, doors and façades. In 2024, SAS recorded sales of approximately GBP 50 million (around USD 65.7 million) and showed high profitability.
SAS Managing Director Mark Wadsworth commented: “We are excited to join the ASSA ABLOY Group and to combine our legacy as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of aluminium profile systems with ASSA ABLOY’s global reach.”
ASSA ABLOY sees key advantages in the acquired company’s high-quality window and door profile systems, particularly those with strong energy efficiency performance — a crucial trend in window and façade production. This will enhance the brand’s offering in the UK commercial market.
