NSG Group has announced plans to increase its Low-E energy-efficient glass production capacity at its Chiba plant in Japan. This site is one of the company’s key locations for architectural glass manufacturing.
According to the company’s plans, a new coating line will be operational at the plant in the second quarter of 2026. Mass production of energy-saving glass is expected to begin the following quarter. This move is part of the company’s strategy to prepare for rising demand for high thermal insulation products, driven by the Japanese government’s new energy efficiency regulations. The country is tightening standards for residential and commercial buildings in line with its path towards carbon neutrality.
NSG Group emphasises its ambition to become a leading supplier of architectural glass that contributes to a sustainable environment. Expanding the production of Low-E (low-emissivity) glass is a step in this direction.
It is worth noting that a float glass plant is also planned in Ukraine, where energy-efficient, solar control, and other types of glass will be manufactured.
