The photos determine whether a homeowners’ association can prove damage to façades, windows, balcony units, inter-panel joints or utility networks. Each element must be recorded from different angles and with detail: from the overall view of the building to individual damaged windows or balcony doors.
To confirm the dimensions and characteristics of windows or balcony units, specifications or commercial offers from manufacturers must be added.
What must be documented
- all building façades with damage;
- each broken or deformed window;
- balcony doors, loggias and other transparent structures;
- common areas with visible signs of impact;
- utility networks, roofing and other structural elements.
A photographic report must be prepared separately for each flat. Hidden works must also be documented, for example, dismantling insulation, installing reinforcing mesh or insulation thickness.
The "VidnovyDIM" programme compensates up to UAH 10 million per building. However, expenses not confirmed by inspection reports and photographic documentation are not reimbursed. This applies both to façade repairs and to window installation.
It should be noted that from 15 July the "VidnovyDIM" programme once again accepts applications from homeowners’ associations.
For companies working in the window market, the requirement of photographic documentation means coordinating actions with homeowners’ associations. A properly prepared photographic report ensures process transparency and increases trust in both associations and contractors.
