NSG Group announced that Pilkington Polska Sp. z o.o. plans to install a new architectural glass coating line at its plant in Sandomierz, Poland. Production start-up is scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The investment amounts to around PLN 160 million (over €37 million).
The new automated line will enable the application of high-precision functional coatings on glass, providing improved energy efficiency and optimal light transmission. This will allow Pilkington Polska to expand its product range for the window market, including energy-efficient low-emissivity glass, which is in high demand in Poland and across Europe.
The Turkish group Şişecam has also announced investments in expanding production of energy-efficient and architectural glass.
“The market is changing rapidly, and demand for high value-added products is increasing both in Poland and in Europe. The new line will be our strategic response to these trends. It will expand production capacity and support the development of energy-efficient construction,” said Krzysztof Granicki, Head of Architectural Glass SBU at NSG Group for Central, Northern and Eastern Europe.
The Sandomierz plant is one of NSG Group’s key production sites worldwide, with modern infrastructure, an experienced team and a favourable logistical location.
The project aligns with NSG Group’s medium-term strategy, “2030 Vision: Shift the Phase”, which aims to drive business growth and decarbonisation.
