The Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS) announced that the launch of a training class for façade engineering designers is scheduled for summer 2026. This was stated by UMTS Executive Director Mykhailo Orlenko during the Association’s General Meeting.
The specialised classroom will be created on the basis of the Department of Architectural Structures of the Faculty of Architecture at Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture (KNUBA).

The training of façade engineering designers will be organised as an elective module. Mykhailo Orlenko noted that this format will help attract truly motivated students. UMTS also plans to prepare up to 15 façade engineering designers annually for enterprises in the sector.
The training will follow the principles of dual education. UMTS plans to arrange industrial placements at member companies of the Association — partners of the WindowED project.
The creation of the class is part of the national WindowED project. The project aims to build a national system of vocational education in the field of window manufacturing and installation.
