The Ukrainian Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS) will start work in 2026 on the professional standard “Assembler of transparent structures” within the national WindowED project. This was announced by UMTS Executive Director Mykhailo Orlenko during the General Assembly of the Association.
Educational institutions can train specialists for the industry only after the National Qualifications Agency (NQA) approves a professional standard and enters it into the Qualifications Register. On the basis of such a standard, vocational education institutions and higher education institutions develop curricula and open training facilities.
At present, the National Qualifications Agency has already approved the professional standard “Installer of ventilated curtain wall façades and transparent structures”. The standard “Installer of window and door systems” has passed public consultation, and UMTS has already submitted an application for its registration with the NQA.
The next step for the association is to create a standard for the profession “Assembler of transparent structures” during 2026. UMTS has also planned work on the standard “Design engineer of transparent structures”.
Within WindowED, the association is building a complete training chain for the production and installation of transparent structures so that the industry receives qualified specialists.
