Poland has increased its imports of windows and doors from Ukraine by almost eight times over the past three years. This was reported by the Polish Association of Window and Door Manufacturers (POiD), citing Eurostat data.
In 2022, Poland imported joinery products from Ukraine worth €2.76 million. In 2025, this figure increased by 50.6% compared with the previous year. Overall, the value of imports has grown almost eightfold over the three-year period.
The main driver of this growth was PVC products. In 2025, Poland imported PVC windows from Ukraine worth €19.43 million.
The upward trend has continued into 2026. During the first four months of the year, imports of PVC windows from Ukraine to Poland increased by 52.2% compared with the same period of the previous year. The value of these shipments reached €7.39 million.
Overall, in 2025 Poland imported joinery products from countries outside the European worth €50.54 million. This was 16.9% higher than a year earlier. Ukraine and China together accounted for 80.6% of this total.
For comparison, Poland's total imports of windows and doors reached €235.58 million in 2025, up 3.8% compared with 2024. During the first three months of 2026, imports totalled €56.11 million, down 1.7% compared with the same period of the previous year. Germany remained Poland's largest supplier of joinery products: in 2025, imports from Germany reached €71.76 million, an increase of 2.1% year on year.
The increase in supplies from Ukraine comes amid a shift in export destinations by Ukrainian manufacturers following the start of the full-scale war. Companies lost access to the Russian and Belarusian markets and began actively seeking partners in European countries, particularly Poland and Germany.
