Ukraine and Norway have agreed on a “transport visa-free regime”. The Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine signed a protocol with the Norwegian Ministry of Transport.
A simplified regime for bilateral and transit traffic will be in effect on 1 September 2023. According to Deputy Minister Serhiy Derkach, the liberalisation of freight transport will be in effect at least until 30 June 2024.
Transport without permits applies to trucks of Euro 5 and above. The carrier must have a certificate confirming the environmental class of the truck.
Ukrainian hauliers will also be able to get 250 universal permits and 50 permits to/from third countries for trucks of lower environmental class.
The European Union and Ukraine also have an agreement on the liberalisation of road transport. It means the possibility of carrying out permit-free transport to 27 EU countries. In June, Ukraine also agreed on a “transport visa-free regime” with North Macedonia. In total, the “transport visa-free regime” is in place in 35 countries.
