The supervisory board of the Energy Efficiency Fund has appointed Yehor Fareniuk as the institution's director. He will hold the position from February 22, 2025, to February 21, 2028. This marks his second term in the role.
The chair of the supervisory board, Yuliia Sabatiuk, stated that Fareniuk has deep expertise in energy efficiency and is well-versed in European standards. According to her, he anticipates the challenges facing the country. For instance, the GreenDIM programme was developed before the need for it became critical.
Yehor Fareniuk has over 25 years of experience in energy efficiency, including leadership roles in business. He graduated from the thermal power engineering faculty of NTUU "KPI" and earned a master's degree in public administration at KNUCA. He holds a PhD in technical sciences and is the author of over 30 scientific publications, three of which are indexed in the Scopus database.
His professional achievements include contributing to the development of key regulatory acts in the field of energy efficiency. As the fund's technical director, he worked on the Enerhodim programme and later initiated and implemented the VidnovyDIM and GreenDIM programmes during the full-scale war.
The selection process began on February 1, 2025, and consisted of several stages, including written tests, interviews, and document verification. Based on the results, Yehor Fareniuk was recognised as the best candidate.
