At the beginning of 2025, the German Institute for Building Technology (DIBt) issued a general building approval (aBG) for Fineo vacuum glass. It can now be used for vertical glazing in construction projects across Germany without requiring case-by-case approval.
The approval simplifies the coordination of glass facades, as previous DIN 18008-2 regulations did not account for the specifics of vacuum glazing. The document sets out requirements for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of Fineo products, complementing European standards, including the European Technical Assessment (ETA 20/0048).
At the end of 2024, AGC became the first European manufacturer of vacuum glass to receive CE marking.
