The agreement on the transport visa-free regime has been in place since June 2022. It has already been extended twice, most recently in June 2024. At that time, the parties agreed that if no violations or negative market impacts were recorded, the agreement would automatically remain valid until the end of 2025.
It is important for Ukrainian carriers to comply with the terms of the agreement:
- mark lorries with a special sticker↗️ (5 cm, sample approved in the agreement);
- carry a paper licence extract with a QR code in English;
- confirm cargo documents even when the vehicle is empty;
- keep documents on the type of transport (bills of lading, consignment notes, customs declarations).
The business community generally welcomed the initiative, as it enabled long-term logistics planning, reduced costs, and helped avoid downtime due to the lack of permits.
