GEALAN is upgrading its profile systems and switching to bio-based PVC for the exterior part of the profiles. This was reported by the company’s press office.
Almost all profiles in the GEALAN system are now available in the BALANCE version with bio-based PVC. This plant-based raw material does not compete with food production and is certified under the ISCC PLUS standard.
GEALAN continues to introduce resource-saving materials in profile manufacturing: over 30% of the core material already consists of recycled PVC, and now the exterior is made from bio-based PVC. This enables the production of CO₂-optimised PVC profiles for windows and doors. Visually and technically, the windows are indistinguishable from conventional ones.
Bio-based PVC is also used by Rehau, Schüco and Veka.
