The State Inspectorate for Architecture and Urban Planning of Ukraine (DIAM) has included inspections of products from the “door and window units” group in its Sectoral Plan for 2025. This covers not only windows and doors, but also shutters, gates, and other construction fittings. The Ukrainian Association of Manufacturers of Transparent Structures (UMTS) reported this, urging manufacturers and suppliers of windows and doors to check their documentation and labelling in advance.
By law, every manufacturer or distributor must have a Declaration of performance of construction products and place the conformity mark to technical regulations on the product, label, or packaging. Breaching these requirements can cost a business a fine of UAH 381,528 (126 subsistence minimums for able-bodied persons).
According to the UMTS, common errors already recorded by DIAM include the absence of a conformity mark, the absence of a Declaration of performance, and substituting it with a “certificate of conformity”. The Inspectorate reminds that current technical regulations do not require mandatory certification — only the declaration and the mark.
The UMTS predicts that the first inspections will take place directly on construction sites. This is because DIAM inspectors have direct access to facilities during technical and market supervision.
