Turkish group Şişecam invests in expanding energy-efficient and architectural glass production

The Turkish group Şişecam has announced a large-scale expansion of its production capacity for energy-efficient and architectural glass. This became known from the company’s investor presentation for the first half of 2025.

By 2026, the group plans to launch several projects in different countries:
  • coated energy-saving glass lines (Low-E and multifunctional glass) with a total capacity of 19.5 million m² in Turkey, Italy and Bulgaria;
  • a plant for producing frosted glass with a capacity of 288,000 tonnes per year;
  • a new TR-9 float glass line in Turkey (432,000 tonnes per year), scheduled for launch in Q1 2026;
  • construction of a frosted glass furnace in Italy and modernisation of the Kirklarli (Turkey) facility, which will be focused on architectural products for modern façades and window systems.

According to the company, the investments are driven by growing demand for energy-efficient glass in Europe and the Middle East. The plans include strengthening Sisecam’s position in the architectural glass segment. The company supplies architectural glass to EU countries, the Middle East and North Africa. In Europe, the key markets are Italy, Germany, France, Romania and the United Kingdom. Exports will also be directed to countries with high rates of reconstruction, including Ukraine.
